Our Foundation Stage Unit

Welcome to Our Foundation Stage Unit (FSU)

Our FSU welcomes children from aged 2 to 5. Our Pre School children are known as ‘Little Acorns’ and our Reception aged children are known as ‘Big Acorns.’

We closely follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to provide a range of activities linked to each child’s interests and next steps.

We recommend arranging an appointment to visit and look around in the first instance, followed by a ‘settling in’ session. To find out more please contact the school.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment to enable children to have the confidence to question, clarify and share their thinking. Communication and language is the heart of our day to day learning; through songs, rhymes, stories and conversations, we set high expectations for vocabulary and knowledge.

We have a large, covered outdoor area, we’re also lucky enough to have a Forest School site just behind our classroom. We have waterproof all-in-one puddle suits for every child, so the weather won’t stop us!

Our school cook, Keri, provides high quality school dinners which can be booked on the morning of your session.
