School Uniform

What Do We Need and Where Do We Get It?

We take pride in our appearance and consistency in this supports good behaviour and a positive attitude to learning.  We also listen to, and work with, parents if there are any difficulties or adjustments that may need to happen.

UNIFORM ITEMS : Georgeham School branded zip up fleeces, sweatshirts, cardigans, white polo style shirts, book bags, PE t-shirts and PE bags can be purchased from:  www.schoolthreads.org/georgeham-primary.  There are some non branded items on this site too for ease (black shorts/leggings/a white polo shirt, red gingham summer dress, even hair ties and water bottles) but these standard uniform items (without the school logo) can be purchased from larger supermarkets, and are acceptable at school.

LABEL IT: Please ensure your child’s uniform is labelled, or re-label any hand-ons as the lost property soon piles up and a named item is identifiable and returned much more quickly.
Unnamed items still in lost property at the end of each term will be sent to a local clothes recycling bank.
Unclaimed, branded items of a good quality will go to the FROGS uniform sale.

NEARLY NEW:  Our PTA (FROGS) periodically run a gently owned hand me down uniform sale usually alongside another event, if they they have a decent amount to offer.
If you have any good quality items to donate, please take out any name tags (or block with wash fast black pen) before handing into the school office.

NEW STARTERS: We do not keep stock of new uniform in school, however parents of new, or vulnerable students can always ask at the office if an item is urgently required as we can sometimes find something suitable for immediate wear.

JEWELLERY is not allowed apart from watches and stud earrings, both of which should be removed for PE sessions.

HAIR Please ensure that long hair is tied up at all times, not just for PE. It can be a distraction to a child, and their friends, if hair is falling over their work, especially important in art; it can also be a health and safety issue for all pupils.

FOOTWEAR Sensible footwear is vital for children to play safely and also for their feet to grow properly,  therefore we would like children to wear all year round suitable dark, plain, flat shoes with no heels. Designer label boots or designer trainers are inappropriate for school at any time, please stick to plain and simple footwear. If its wet and you walk to school in wellington boots please ensure your child has appropriate shoes to change into for the school day.
