Last week Class 4 were busy designing and building their own motorised vehicles for our big class 4 car project. First they worked in teams to make cars out of various materials with the aim of travelling the maximum distance from a ramp. Then, using what they had learnt, they designed and made their own motorised cars in preparation for [...]

🔬🔬 Lots of experimenting in class 4 🔬🔬

2017-03-03T19:27:27+00:00

We had a great time in science today exploring different solids to see if they dissolved in water. We then started to think about whether we had worked scientifically to make our test fair. Lots of great discussions and most importantly lots of smiling, enthusiastic children 😀

2017-03-01T22:55:14+00:00

Sally from Devon Waste Education came into class 4 today to talk to us about our waste. We learnt all about what we throw away and how we could reduce the shocking amount of waste we produce in today's world. We found out that just to make a battery we need different materials from all around the world [...]

If Jupiter is a watermelon then maybe the moon IS made of cheese after all ;-)

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

In class 4 we talked about which piece of fruit could represent each planet in our Solar System. After lots of discussions, we modelled the Solar System using fruit and....a toilet roll. Even though each piece of toilet paper represented 40 million km, our Solar System still stretched from one end of class 4, right out the door and along [...]

It was another great coffee afternoon on Wednesday and class 4 had really worked hard to get all of their products ready in time - there were even a few early morning baking sessions! Class 4-The Spying Mission! 👀🔎

2016-11-26T21:20:54+00:00

A couple of weeks ago we made periscopes that reflected light when we were investigating light. Today we moved on to thinking more about our eyes, so we transformed our first periscope into one that allowed us to see over and around objects. After creating the final version of our prototype periscopes it seemed only right to go outside and [...]
