What a beautiful morning! We got all togged up and went out to explore the signs of winter.

We found blocks of ice and talked about the different shapes and patterns we could see – we used magnifying glasses to take a closer look.

We threw the ice and watched it smash! Some of us then tried to piece it back together again like a jigsaw.

We noticed that in some areas there were lots of frost and other areas not so much. We discovered that the shady areas had more frost as it was protected from the sun!
