Class 3 had an epic adventure today, following the River Lyn from its source to mouth with our amazing National Trust guides. We looked at how the river changed as it grew, had lunch at Watersmeet (a confluence) and then finished off our journey with an ice-cream at Lynmouth (the Lyn’s mouth!). Along the way we saw some of the features of a river with some amazing waterfalls and rapids as well as evidence of the sometimes devastating effects of flooding.
A massive thanks to Fraser and the National Trust team for the fantastic effort they put in to planning such a great day and for funding the coach for us, also to our parent helpers Caroline and Sam, and lastly to class 3 who were curious, kind and adventurous – and really impressed us with the way they worked together and supported each other well all day.
