Forget what is behind us and reach straight for what is ahead.  Run straight towards the goal.”  Philippians 3.v.12

Our 1/2 term’s School Value is that We’re Ambitious and we have high expectations of our children and staff.  We do loads of things at school and I often hear that we punch above our weight, which very much supports and embraces the ‘Small School – Huge Horizons’ strapline that we have.  This is really hard to do in a small school with limited capacity to facilitate it all and we very much appreciate the support of the local community and parents.

  • Governors have worked tirelessly this term ensuring the best for the children.
  • FROGS and parents have supported our fundraising, your tea and cake requirements at the Sports’ Day and also with the evening’s catering for year 2 who slept over at school last night!
  • Our staff have also gone the extra mile this past term (even sleeping in corridors!)
  • We also took part in an Aquathlon in Torrington today, Friday.  Thanks to the parents who supported this event and helped with transport etc.  I hope they did well?!
  • Just a big thank you to you all for your support!
  • It’s been a tiring week – I hope I haven’t missed anyone!

Our ‘We Are Ambitious’ school value also utilises the bible passage, to “Forget what is behind us and reach straight for what is ahead.”  We will endeavour to run straight towards our goal, but please also help us to know what this could be by completing our school survey.

What goals would you like us to run towards?

Keri will be away from school on Tuesday 5th July. Mrs Brown will be taking charge of the kitchen on that day and will be offering a limited lunch menu of jacket potatoes and filled rolls.

Well done to Year 2 for sleeping over in school last night.  Well done to the Mums and Dads who either worried about them all evening or used the opportunity to have a nice evening off.  And thanks to Mrs Parker and Miss Hill who stayed over of course!

You’ve probably noticed the small changes to our front gates.  Please help to keep our school safe and secure and close the gate after you’ve used them.

12th July for a 6pm start.
For tickets please contact the Landmark Theatre on 01271316523 … Or click this link.

Whole School bike ride.  Changed date of Wednesday 20th.  This is an opportunity for children to learn how to ride bikes and have a biking themed day at school, or challenge themselves to ride to Rock Park, Fremington or Bideford, and back, all heading from Tescos in Braunton.  We’ve not done this for a few years and we hope it’ll be a great event as it’s always been!
For this to work well, we’d like family members to take part and help if and where they can – we really appreciate this, thank you.  It is also, certainly, a ‘wear-a-helmet’ event too!

Our Summer Fair is the same week!  Friday 22nd July, straight after school.  FROGS are already working in the background for this – thanks everyone!

That leaves the final thing being the Leavers’ Assembly at 2pm on our last day; Tuesday 26th July.

Our front doors are open between 8.45 and 8.55 with children doing learning activities as soon as they arrive. Sadly, the ones who arrive late at 9.00 am would have missed this, and the ones who are later can even miss the introduction to the next learning task.
Please aim to arrive for 8.45am

Please do look at the school menu before you leave home in the morning. Keri is unable to adjust the menu each day and it’s important that the children know what’s on offer and are happy to make choices in the morning.

We are Ambitious.
Forget what is behind us and reach straight for what is ahead.  Run straight towards the goal.
