This afternoon we released our butterflies! We were getting worried that they would still be in their chrysalides when we finished for half term…but yesterday they started to emerge and by this afternoon all four butterflies were ready to flap their wings!

We’ve really enjoyed our butterfly topic…learning two stories; ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘The Cautious Caterpillar’. We’ve used props to tell our own story of a caterpillar emerging from its chrysalis. We’ve also done some fantastic writing – keeping our caterpillar journals and writing our independent stories about a butterfly!
