We’ve had such a fun day today celebrating the Year of the Tiger! Yesterday we decorated our classroom and made lanterns to get ready for the Chinese New Year.

Today, we made our own ‘firework fruit’ and enjoyed eating them at snack time! We listened to the story of The Great Race and learnt about why the years are named after different animals…the tiger came 3rd in his race across the river!

We each made our own dragon kites and we enjoyed parading them around the school this afternoon in our own festival! We finished our festival by watching a special Chinese New Year firework show.

We also had a go at using chopsticks…we tried to pick up as much popcorn as we could! It was quite tricky but really fun too!
