Moving the chrysalides!

2021-06-10T11:47:34+01:00

We learnt a new word yesterday - 'chrysalides' - which means more than one chrysalis! It's a bit tricky to say...(even Miss Smale keeps getting it wrong!!) We moved the chrysalides out of the cup (which was mostly caterpillar poo by this point). It was a bit scary because they are so delicate and we had to make sure we [...]

Wave of Hope

2022-08-18T13:26:58+01:00

We received many, brilliantly and very uniquely crafted handprints in to school earlier this week. Thanks to everyone who sent them in... below, is a gallery of photos of them! These will come together with other school children's handprints from the Braunton Learning Cooperative Trust, and will be on display on Friday, on the Tarka Trail, timed for the start [...]

Fun in the sun!

2021-06-08T14:07:16+01:00

It may not have been Rosemoor, but we had lots of fun at the park this morning. We were so lucky with the weather! We worked in pairs to find different minibeasts; we found black beetles, ants, woodlouse and butterflies! We talked about the different habitats that each minibeast has and where would be a good place to look for [...]

Rosemoor Trip – Cancelled

2021-06-07T12:04:15+01:00

Dear Parents, Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to cancel the Rosemoor trip arranged for classes 1 and 2 tomorrow. We have been informed that the road between Barnstaple & Torrington is closed all week, which would have meant the coach being diverted through Bideford. The journey time is therefore significantly increased and would have meant that the time [...]

Parent Survey…

2022-08-18T13:26:58+01:00

Your feedback is important to us.  It helps us think about ways we can improve your children’s experience of school. We’ve compiled a survey to ask for your views, and with 6 tick-boxes and only 3 questions that need a written answer, we’d really appreciate it if you would spend just 3 minutes completing it for us. Thank you.  Please [...]

Wave of Hope homework…

2022-08-18T13:26:58+01:00

Something we heard about just as we were breaking up, is the 'Wave of Hope.' Children throughout the country, and certainly in Devon and Cornwall, are making a statement and creating a message for world leaders as the come together for the G7 summit in June. I know it's sunny, but if need an activity when you're hiding in the [...]

Baby Caterpillars!

2022-08-18T13:26:58+01:00

We had a very exciting delivery this morning...5 baby caterpillars! We are so excited to watch them grow over the next few weeks. We've learnt lots about the life cycle of a butterfly and almost know 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' off by heart. We're going to keep a caterpillar diary over the next few weeks to see the different changes [...]

Year 6 London: One more blog (do do do do do do!)

2022-08-18T13:26:59+01:00

We’re all back safely, exhausted but happy, with lots of special memories made before we all go off on our next adventure to “big school”. To our parents: your children have been absolutely amazing and should be really, really proud of themselves. They attempted challenging tasks with a smile and determination, even when they were a bit scared. They encouraged [...]
