We’re introducing an extra request for our return to school and would like your support please.
Covid-19 cases have risen over the past week, there’s an increase of tier 2 and 3 areas and families may have used the half term break to travel too. We also know that children may not be aware that their temperature is high and that they don’t show any ‘illness’ for parents to check.
With this in mind, we’d be grateful if parents would kindly check their children’s temperature daily for the last few days of the half term break and the first week of this coming half term for the reassurance and protection of the school community.
If your child’s temperature is high, please contact the school office and do not send your child in to school.
If their temperature is 37.8 degrees or more, or if they develop a new continuous cough or new onset loss of/change to smell or taste, then please arrange a Covid swab test as soon as possible online via www.gov.uk/get-coronovirus-test (or by ringing 119 if any difficulties with online booking) and keep us informed by phoning or emailing the office.
The whole household will need to stay at home and self-isolate at least until you receive the result, even if the symptoms settle. Only a negative test result means that the family can end the isolation period earlier.
We hope this reaches you well and you’ve had a good week.
