Year 6 are learning lots about things that are important and could save lives!
Learning about how to stay safe on our beaches… Got to say that this was a speciality for our kids!
This was the Dogs Trust’s part where we discussed how to make sure we were safe. Of course, after all out work on dog poo we knew lots of answers! 🙂
Hand washing received a little giggle when it was introduced but after they washed their hands and looked at the bacteria afterwards (coloured), they were surprised! (Apparently Zac washes his hands and then goes to the loo!)
NHS gave us a quick demonstration on CPR and then we had a try for ourselves! Kieron was great and remembered lots… from a course that his Mum had done!
Antisocial behaviour was an interesting station. Is dog poo antisocial? Turning the music up loud after school? What about shouting or even swearing out in the road? Brilliant conversations!
Some silly answers at this station but great discussion about when it’s appropriate and legal (or illegal) to have an alcoholic drink! … Had to be two photos!!
We couldn’t get a good photo of the two rooms the fire service set up for us, but possible the most important item in the room was the fire detector with no battery!
When was the last time you checked your battery?
Well done year 6, very good job this afternoon, listening well, thinking hard and learning!
