We lost the debate (but that’s a good thing!)

2022-08-18T13:27:07+01:00

Following on from our previous post, the debate went really badly and we lost... but then we were arguing in the position of a Packaging Manager and actually, didn't believe in what we had to put forward! Backtrack... Our Eco Council went to the Met Office building today to take part in the first ever SAS Plastic Free Conference. SAS' [...]

Eco Council; debating and wishing we lose!

2022-08-18T13:27:07+01:00

Our Eco Council has been invited by Surfers Against Sewage to take part in a debate on Tuesday, one that's going to be extremely challenging... we're playing the part of a Packaging Manufacture and we're supporting the motion that the plastic free programme should be put on pause for another 20 years! This caused some confusion in our brief discussion [...]

2019-12-01T20:26:43+00:00

A reminder about the Swimming Gala tomorrow (specific children in classes 3 and 4 were given their swimming reminder sheet last week.) Normal registration at school... the coach from the village hall... and hopefully finished for 12.30.  The letter issued does say about bringing a packed lunch please! Parents have been reminded that ... "they must keep fire exits clear [...]

Crib On The Green…

2022-08-18T13:27:07+01:00

So Mary and Joseph were at church this morning, and so were a lot of the community, as well as some coffee and cake too.  I'm sure Mary just wanted a bit of breathing space in her condition, bless her, but after a few chocolate brownies and a bit of a give-away of the story sung by the school chidren, [...]

TR Youth Choir at the Cathedral!

2019-11-29T18:55:05+00:00

Wow! What an amazing night at Exeter Cathedral. It was a long day, with rehearsals throughout the afternoon... but Georgeham were fantastic! We are so proud of how hard the children have worked this term. They showed confidence throughout all of their performances and it was lovely to see how much they enjoyed themselves. Well done to every single one [...]

Single-Use Prayers? Never!

2019-11-26T19:58:56+00:00

That tough question about whether to laminate!? Written by children this week, these prayers will be displayed on the Crib, on the Green, on Sunday. They're going to need to be weather proof so the community can come and read them and pray about their what they say. Do come along as it's always a lovely community service... and our [...]

Swimming sessions…

2019-11-22T14:35:49+00:00

Such a busy week this one... with a packed agenda at Ilfracombe Pool for Class 3 and Class 4 squashed in as well. HUGE thanks to Tamsin (Indie's Mum) and Paul (Theo's Dad) for helping out. I think it was certainly because of their help that the lifeguards said it was one of their best school sessions they've had! What [...]

YES, Mr Robson! A day being Victorian children…

2022-08-18T13:27:07+01:00

What a fantastic school trip we have had today! The children were treated like real Victorian children applying for a position at Coldharbour Mill. They met the (rather scary!) Mr Robson, who discussed the roles that they would be applying for. The children learnt about the tasks that Victorian children would have to undertake, the reality of the working conditions [...]

The Post’s Arrived…!

2022-08-18T13:27:07+01:00

Sir David Attenborough got back in touch with one of our year 6 girls! We've shown it and shared it with the rest of school in assembly and we've now managed to get a photo of it for the blog, now that it's framed too! Some sneaky detective work established that the letter and postcard are individually signed - quite [...]
