Pen Recycling…

2022-08-18T13:27:08+01:00

Our little Pringle tube is full of pens at home, so I'm bringing them in to school. We've a huge Terracycle recycling box in the school hall if you'd like to bring in pens, cartridges, highlighters etc., even Tippex and Pritt sticks. Just pass them over to your child, they'll know where to put them. Which reminds me, we need [...]

Family Group Kindness…

2019-09-18T15:04:51+01:00

A report from Kitty... "Myah has been really nice to me and she made me feel really good." We learn about PSHE, and we do activities about things such as kindness, today. Our Family Groups have all different ages of kids in them, they're really happy, and everyone comes together to talk about different things and we help each other. [...]

Blue Peter… Comes to Georgeham!

2019-07-16T23:39:58+01:00

(Photo gallery at the bottom.) I still can't quite believe that Blue Peter came to the school yesterday! It all started a few years ago when the school became a 'Beach Rep' for the Surfers Against Sewage - the first and only School Rep with our School Council / Eco Council being the representatives. The charity soon developed a program [...]

Taiko Drumming 🥁🥁

2019-07-12T18:43:58+01:00

Class 3 and 4 spent the morning outside playing the Taiko drums. We had a brilliant workshop led by Gillian Ashcroft. Adults and children worked hard to remember the rhythm and movement, we even counted to 8 in Japanese. We ended the session with the traditional Taiko 'thank you' by saying 'otsukaresama deshita' which means "Thank you, you must be [...]

Romans Invade Georgeham School

2022-08-18T13:27:08+01:00

Class 3 enjoyed a great day with our Roman workshop last Wednesday. We traveled 2,000 years back in time to the year 49CE. We became part of the proud tribe of Britons who lived in Devon at this time called the Dumnonii (dum-no-nie-ee). It was a great way to find out what life was like in Britain during the Roman [...]

Shuffle Up Day…

2019-07-02T19:26:29+01:00

Some of our children moved up a classroom this afternoon, and some became 'the professionals' in the room, welcoming the newer children in to their classroom. We had teamwork going on, communication and rules being spoken about, laying down children's expectations of us (as well as ours of them), some playing together and also finding out about each others strengths, [...]
