Anyone for a Dance?

2014-11-20T21:59:23+00:00

Class 4, and I think Class 3 too, will find these two videos useful for their upcoming play in December... Tess, I think playing these should be fine for your PC - they're on YouTube (unlisted and 'ungoogleable' too) and should be much quicker than what we uploaded earlier in the week. Happy practising!

Solar School Totaliser…

2014-11-04T10:13:05+00:00

Getting ready for our Solar School Launch night next Monday (10th November at 6pm) Class 3 have designed the Totaliser and in true Blue-Peter style, well without cardboard boxes and egg cartons, I have made it over half term! Millie, Maia, Jessica, Isabel and Rudi all designed their Totaliser with the beach at the bottom and the sky at the [...]

Getting On and Falling Out…

2022-08-18T13:27:25+01:00

Our Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) topic this half term is all about getting on and falling out. In assembly this morning we saw some pictures of children falling out - some were quite mean with children picking on others!  We discussed what we would do when someone is hurt, when someone is playing with something we would [...]

Sunny arrives in Georgeham

2014-10-01T19:07:10+01:00

Class 3 have been reading Meerkat Mail and are writing their own stories based on the book, which centres around a meerkat called Sunny. We were all excited to have a visit by a real life Sunny thanks to Steve at Exmoor Zoo's education department. Steve brought along several animals from around the world and explained their various [...]

Arlington with Class 3…

2022-08-18T13:27:27+01:00

Monday mornings are normally quiet but we had a few excited children at the back of the bus on the way to Arlington. Can you make out who they are? Stuart then showed us the parkland and have us some history of the house. We then started on our leaf hunt... A field maple and a sycamore are quite similar! [...]

Un crayon rouge…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

Doing French this afternoon... being fashion designers and colouring clothes. As an example, I suggested they talk about the coloured pencils that need passing round the table... "Can you pass me un crayon rouge?" Photo Credit: Nico Cavallotto via Compfight Quite nicely... Neo passed me the red pencil 5 minutes later.  How thoughtful! Who can remember their colours?

Walking Proficiency Test…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

What we learnt on the way to the village hall: Walk, scooter or cycle on the left but not in the middle or on the right. That you shouldn't walk on the zig and zags because it puts you in the middle of the road. People park their cars badly and it forces people like us to walk round them, [...]

Essex Dance…

2014-07-07T14:57:56+01:00

Kingsacre, Southmead and Georgeham, nearly 200 children, attended the Essex Dance group's show.  They did many dances at the start (a lot of jazz-like numbers) and Barry showed us a very moving dance that he choreographed himself. We then split into groups of 8 or so and were helped by the dancers to learn the chorus.  Barry lead [...]

Telling the time…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

One of the tasks for today was to see how well we could tell the time and try to show a time given to us digitally, on an analogue clock.  We thought we could show this on the blog using videos and so our day was taken up making storyboards, being an effective team member and taking and retaking videos! [...]
