Preparing for the Maypole and Broom Dance

2018-05-04T16:40:12+01:00

Classes 3 and 4 have started to learn the Maypole and Broom Dance in preparation for the summer fayre. As the fayre is going to be part of our 150th anniversary of the school we want to make sure we celebrate some of the important traditions. 😀

Class 3 enjoy a morning of tennis!

2018-05-02T06:42:15+01:00

Class 3 had a great morning at Braunton Academy yesterday. We joined the other schools in the BLC (Braunton Learning Community) for a morning of tennis skills run by the pupils at the Academy. (It was lovely to see former Georgeham pupils Sarah Filsel and Tom Hakin there, doing a great job of running the activities!)   The [...]

Class 3 bake off!

2018-03-18T13:48:10+00:00

Last week class 3 baked their own Egyptian flatbreads based on a Jamie Oliver recipe (which you can download at the bottom of this post!). Everyone had tasted a range of breads beforehand and from this designed their own flavor bread, as well as the packaging to go with it. It was quite hard (and messy) work getting the dough [...]

BLC Football Win!

2018-03-15T15:25:24+00:00

A slow burning start with a few worrying moments and some team talks needed about silly mistakes that should have been drilled out by now... But... Georgeham won the Learning Community's Football Tournament! An amazing afternoon clawing back and working perfectly together showed that our small school really does play towards huge horizons, albeit muddy ones. Some amazing players and [...]

BLC Swimming Gala…

2018-02-05T17:40:39+00:00

Class 3 and 4 had a great time at Ilfracombe pool this morning and were well on form cheering our swimmers in the lane we managed to blag - right in front of us. Lots of questions came at us adults, such as, "What stroke am I doing?", "Which lane am in?", "How many lengths?" and "Can I have my [...]

Class 3 Egyptian Day

2018-02-02T12:47:22+00:00

Class 3 had an interesting visitor yesterday morning in our Ancient Egyptian workshop. Howard Carter came in to tell us all about his discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb in the Valley of the Kings. We had to solve an Ancient murder mystery and decide who had killed him - the most likely suspect was his uncle (the innocent looking Theo) who [...]
