Old Fossils…

2019-06-21T18:49:29+01:00

We had great fun this morning, finding out about old fossils. (Respectful comments only please!) Mold fossils - where something has landed and sediment has shaped around it, like the playdough on Mr Thomas's nose (!) and the Lego brick under the plaster. Cast fossils - the infill, once the animal is gone. Trace fossils - showing where plant life [...]

Operation Overlord…

2022-08-18T13:27:08+01:00

What an amazing day. Some great and ambitious planning by Miss Summerville and Mrs Axford and we had beaches stormed and a soldier telling us how to do it! Our Company was split into 2 Platoons (it's normally 3) with one heading off to Rosemoor to experience the rain and outdoors (that sounded like one mad trip!)... and the other [...]

D-Day cancellation…

2019-06-13T14:27:52+01:00

Young men and women went to war in horrible conditions and were amazingly strong heroes. However, and it was a very difficult decision, the D-Day Celebration organisers have decided that they couldn't put our young children through their own tough ordeal in the cold, wind and rain that's forecast tomorrow.     Class 3 and 4 will remain at school and [...]

Class 3 ROCKS!

2019-05-10T16:39:46+01:00

We didn't make Igneous rocks, or metamorphic either (few technical difficulties in doing them) but we did make sedimentary rocks. We layered sand and soil and squashed them very tightly. Peeling the pot and paper towel away, most of us were left with a crumbling mess... but we did have a few compacted sedimentary 'rocks!'

Are you interested in training to become a teacher?

2019-04-29T13:43:11+01:00

Our school is part of a growing number of schools within the Teaching School Alliance that is leading the way for more school-led teacher training.  This is really important to us because it means we can choose the very best talent and develop them into teachers.  Being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the [...]

Class 3 visit Chapel Wood to find out about Britain’s woodlands

2022-08-18T13:27:09+01:00

Class 3 picked a perfect day to visit Chapel Woods with the National Trust today - the sun even came out this afternoon! We were on a research mission to find out about the threats to Britain's woodland habitats, and the plants and animals that live there. Josh and the National Trust team showed us how how to work out [...]
