Unbelievably, most of class 3 were up (showered!!) dressed and packed up before 7.15 - and some were up WAY before then! Everyone slept well and there are lots of smiles and hungry tummies. Breakfast isn't until 8!
Well, we couldn't really have asked for a more perfect day....beautiful weather, stunning scenery and glassy blue sea to surf in.
We didn't make Igneous rocks, or metamorphic either (few technical difficulties in doing them) but we did make sedimentary rocks. We layered sand and soil and squashed them very tightly. Peeling the pot and paper towel away, most of us were left with a crumbling mess... but we did have a few compacted sedimentary 'rocks!'

I was teaching in class 3 and I decided to do an impromptu drama session to help the children to remember the different types of rocks and how they are formed: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. Then in class 4 we revised our knowledge of perpendicular and parallel lines plus lines that intersect using actions.
