Pickwell Farm Trip

2016-10-20T12:29:28+01:00

Classes 1 and 2 had a brilliant morning with Farmer Andrew from Pickwell. We are very grateful to him for giving up his time to tell us all about the crops growing in the fields around us and the machines he uses to help him. The children enjoyed sitting in the tractor and collecting eggs from the chicken coup. Thank you [...]

Class 2 venture into Smoothie Making

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

A fabulous morning was had by all in Class 2 today.  Using their pre-prepared smoothie menu, everyone contributed to 'making and drinking' their smoothie. With ingredients such as banana, plum, lemon, pomegranate, pear, apple and strawberry every smoothie tasted completely different. The children were so sensible using the grown-up knives to prepare their fruit and were very careful with their [...]

Thanks FROGS…!

2016-09-28T21:37:37+01:00

Class 2's entrance and cloakroom has just got brighter thanks to FROGS funding, resulting in more space to display some of the children's excellent work.  Thank you very much! And what's also quite handy, is we've now got a spare blue board for Class 3's room, which just so happens to have a blue theme... Brilliant! In planning for FROGS' [...]

Mr Thomas in Class 2…

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

Quick question for you. How many vertical lines on my shirt? Martha said that to GUESS, you'd have no idea at all.  For instance (another question...) How many spots are there on my blue shirt that's hanging up in my wardrobe at home? We had no idea and so we all guessed between 150 and 1,000,000. We decided [...]

Walling on Baggy

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

What a wonderful day to spend on Baggy - it was perfect! 'The best school trip ever!' I heard someone say!! Big thanks to Josh and Gudrun of the National Trust for the dry stone walling sessions - the children should be experts on how it's done!  They worked incredibly hard, were really enthusiastic and put in lots of effort! The second [...]

Week 1 done! (nearly…..)

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

Well done Class 2!  It's been a great start to the year, with everyone showing how well they can listen and help each other.  It's quite daunting starting in a new class but there has been a lovely calm atmosphere and already we've had some great thinking taking place, particularly with  our special week of maths challenges. How do you [...]

Along the Coast – Ilfracombe

2022-08-18T13:27:21+01:00

Class 2 had a lovely day in Ilfracombe yesterday!  Huge thanks to the people at the Aquarium and at the Lifeboat Station for making it a really interesting day.  Our rock pooling skills didn't prove to be so successful, but lots of fun was had on Tunnels Beach, just enjoying our stunning environment. Thanks to FROGS for the ice-cream and [...]
