Lest we forget…

2018-11-11T13:33:47+00:00

A very poignant Armistice Day service at St. George's Church this morning. Our children's poppies were very gratefully received by the community and many people remarked at how beautiful they are.  Some even spotted the 11 purple poppies painted by our Stepping Stones children, representing the estimated 11 million animals that died during the war. Lucy Rinvolucri and Sarah Tucker [...]

Poppies… and poems.

2018-11-09T17:51:13+00:00

I'd like to share some of the work we've done heading towards Armistice Day this Sunday. Poppies... and poems. Only one of these were planned for and directed... and a HUGE thank you must go to Sarah Tucker for the sheer amount of work and effort in prepping so many plastic bottles! The poem that found its way on to [...]

How are you feeling today?

2022-08-18T13:27:12+01:00

It’s been a fairly dark and drizzly time outside this week which has given us plenty of time to sit with the children of Stepping Stones and talk about this week's topic, feelings and behaviours. Let’s face it, it’s not always easy talking about what’s going on inside, but that’s ok and that’s what we’ve wanted the children to understand. [...]

Come and let your colours burst!!!

2022-08-18T13:27:12+01:00

When we explained to the children that we wanted them to dip sponges into paint and water and throw them at the side of the Stepping Stone building, you can imagine their hesitant little faces. Naturally, we don't go about our every day business behaving in such a way. However, as Katy Perry so boldly sang once...'You're a firework...come and [...]

Disgusting Sandwiches…

2018-09-28T16:42:50+01:00

Class 2 have been reading a book about disgusting sandwiches and this morning they made great efforts at making thier worst yet. Ingredients included, soil, sand, green jelly slime, feathers, first, dust, leaves etc.. and they made for terrible sarnies. The Badger in the story would have really liked them, but being asleep through the school day, Mr Thomas came [...]

TR YOUTH Choir…

2018-09-28T16:42:23+01:00

Nine of our children attended the first of six workshops at Kingsacre School of the newly formed Teachers Rock YOUTH Choir. A couple of gospel numbers (after all, our Patron is Rev. Bazil Meade MBE from the London Community Gospel Choir) and then a little bit of Altogether Now by The Farm, playing about with two-part harmony. Six weeks later [...]

Georgeham School Values-represented in art form

2018-09-28T16:44:54+01:00

After seeing Manchester's #BeeInspired trail during the summer that represented the values of Manchester, Miss Summerville decided to do something similar with class 4 on Friday and ask them to represent the values of our school with pictures. Our Values We are Kind We Are Ambitious We Are Adventurous We Are Curious We are Confident We Are Community [...]
