Class 1 has had a great time this morning, learning all about minibeasts and how to make good quality compost. Not only did we get to turn the hall into a giant compost bin, bringing lots of different minibeasts to life (including a huge centipede), we also got to plant their own grass and look very closely at lots of different REAL minibeasts! We explored the soil carefully to find all sorts of slugs, snails, worms and many more creatures. We made little sign posts for our own grass to grow and learned that plants need 4 very important things in order to grow – light, water, air and compost… maybe you could test the children tonight and see if they remember these!
We are very excited now to watch our grass grow.
Now it’s over to Class 2 to enjoy the minibeast fun this afternoon!
Brilliant fun!
Love this 🙂
