Today class 3 went back in history about 2000 years (1963 to be exact!) and became members of the Dumnonii tribe who lived in Devon and Cornwall during this period. They were called to a tribe meeting as Romans had been spotted on their tribal land and had to decide what they wanted to do. There were 3 options:

– Submit to the Romans, pay taxes and live in peace

– Aspire to be a Roman citizen

– Fight the Roman army to retain our traditional way of life.

Obviously class 3, as proud, brave Britons with many warriors, decided to fight. We then had a messenger from the Roman garrison who was sent to persuade us that the Romans were not here to change our customs and traditions but just to civilize us….we weren’t sure whether to believe them but we were shown many of the new things that we would have if we joined the Roman Empire.
