This ½ term’s school value is…
We are Ambitious.
We have the highest expectations for all our children and teachers.
In return, we give everyone in our school as many opportunities as we can to fulfil their potential in the widest possible sense.
“Forget what is behind us and reach straight for what is ahead. Run straight towards the goal.” Philippians 3.v.12

Welcome back everyone…
At some point in the next week or two, you should receive a lovely photo of the children standing on tables and chairs out on the field. It’ll be much better than my photo here and it’ll have everyone sitting smartly with hair looking perfect, hands neatly at their sides, t-shirts tucked in and all smiling towards the camera at the same time.
We Are Ambitious… Indeed.
Oh yes, that’s our School value for the half-term too. The Bible passage that fits along with this is about putting aside difficulties and even forgiving those who may have interrupted things for you, but to concentrate instead on the goal ahead – what’s right, and what’s the right thing to do. We’ve spoken about this in our Family Group meetings and school assemblies, and we bring this up in our daily interactions too. Hopefully this could help at home in talking about goal setting and challenging yourself to do the right things, and to do them right.
Our Governors would love to hear your views about school and your child’s education. We’re always looking for ways to improve and our questionnaire is a great way of receiving people’s thoughts and ideas. Please take a very short moment to complete our survey – only a handful f questions and some open boxes to write more if you’d like to. –Survey: Click here–
Braunton Learning Cooperative Trust are proud to be performing ‘Coming Together to Sing’. Our local schools – ours, with Caen, Kingsacre Marwood, Southmead and Braunton Academy too – will be showcasing their talent for one spectacular night of singing. Dates for the diary…
Sports Day: 21st June starting at 1.30pm. Families can follow their children round specific activities, and then we have the traditional races on the field with parents sitting on the top bank – a great viewing platform!
Class 1 and 2 have their beach day (Putsborough) on 30th June.
Class 2 are sleeping over that (Thursday) evening in school!
FROGS have said they fund buying in pizzas for the evening too 🙂

BLCT cooperative Art Exhibition, open to the public, Wednesday 6th July to Saturday 9th July 12:30-5:30 in Studio Kind in Braunton.
Year 6 transition Days to Braunton Academy – 6th AND 7th.
Lundy residential for year 5s … 12th to the 14th July.

Junior Musical Festival 12th July. Children are coached there for the afternoon. Evening performance – please see note above for ticket details.
Whole School bike ride. Changed date of Wednesday 20th. This is an opportunity for children to learn how to ride bikes and have a biking themed day at school, or challenge themselves to ride to Rock Park, Fremington or Bideford, and back, all heading from Tescos in Braunton. We’ve not done this for a few years and we hope it’ll be a great event as it’s always been!
For this to work well, we’d like family members to take part and help if and where they can – we really appreciate this, thank you. It is also, certainly, a ‘wear-a-helmet’ event too!
Our Summer Fair is the same week! Friday 22nd July, straight after school. FROGS are already working in the background for this – thanks everyone!
That leaves the final thing being the Leavers’ Assembly at 2pm on our last day; Tuesday 26th July.
I hope you didn’t miss the news that Jo Benfield will be moving on from Georgeham School as from September. We have Lottie Hare in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays for this half term, and will be fully recruiting for a September start. Jo’s been here for many years and will be missed, but will be coming back at times as a financial advisor for Devon.
Our front doors are open between 8.45 and 8.55 with children doing learning activities as soon as they arrive. Sadly, the ones who arrive late at 9.00 am would have missed this, and the ones who are later can even miss the introduction to the next learning task.
Please aim to arrive for 8.45am
Please do look at the school menu before you leave home in the morning. Keri is unable to adjust the menu each day and it’s important that the children know what’s on offer and are happy to make choices in the morning.
We are Ambitious.
