It was going to be a DIY and tidying up kind of day, but I ended up having lots of help!
There was an awful lot of wood left over after the installation of the EYFS canopy and some of the year 5 and 6 children had thought about making an eco cabin out of it… so that’s how it all started.
However, one of the major tasks was to sort out all that wood after our summer builds! A broken shed, two lean-to’s, a writing den, some fencing… Fortunately (and very gratefully), now that the good stuff has been separated, Rob Tucker is tidying up all the scrap before the children come back. Thanks!
Another visitor was Mat Turner, to finish off Class 2’s Outdoor Learning Barn. This is a huge space that the year 1 & 2 children can use all year round. We’ve recently received a grant from the Parish Council for items in here too.
I also had Oscar’s Dad, Ted, come to have a look at all that wood too. We drew up some plans for an Easter groundswork party… Amongst lots of thoughts were some raised beds where that orange netting is, out of the old play equipment.
The Forest Village is looking great, especially now we’ve got a tonne of new bark chippings to spread over the area.
The plans for the Forest Village… just tidying up, moving logs and spreading that bark around! Wonder if some little workers could be out to work?
Coming away with some big thoughts and plans, and treated to a lovely rainbow.
