We have been learning about the different planets. Today, we created our favourite and watched them fizz!

We used bicarbonate of soda, water, food colouring and vinegar.

We chose the colour red for Planet Mercury, ‘because it’s close to the sun’, rolled it into a ball and then added vinegar to watch it dissolve!

‘It was so funny watching it explode and erupt!’ – Josh

We listened out for the noises it made when it dissolved. It was fizzing and lots of us thought it looked like sugar. We had lots of fun, but it was very messy!
