This week, we’ve been reading the story ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ by Julia Donaldson.

In the story, Shen uses her magic paintbrush to paint a dragon to keep the emperor away. Today we painted a dragon of our own!

‘A beast with scales and claws.’ We found different ways to make the scales – from patting the brush for a 3D effect or using our hands to make prints!

‘Its scarlet wings are open!’ We found out that scarlet is a shade of red – we found as many different shades of red as we could find!

‘And flames curl from its jaws!’
