After a chilled movie evening watching School of Rock, we all settled down for the night (finally, a warm cup of tea!). Until the clock struck twelve and the thundering of elephants on creaky floorboards alerted us to an emergency of the bump kind. Giant floor bed created to cheer up our wounded soldier (how Thea slept through that I’ll [...]
YESTERDAY EVENING"I was the first one asleep!""I was asleep WAY before Miss Sobey checked on us!" BREAKFAST"We had pain au chocolat and croissants!""Oh, it was yummy.""What do you mean, what did you think about breakfast? ...It was divine. The chocolate melted in my mouth and the pastry went crunch, crunch, crunch." SCIENCE MUSEUMArthur was labelled our Crash Test Dummy yesterday [...]
Day 2 in London. Certainly a first - we actually had to wake the children up this time. Breakfast was served by Miss Trute in our lodge and we were ready for the outdoor centre in plenty of time. We left the lodge in drizzle but arrived (it's nextdoor!) to blazing sun! Climbing first and some holds surprised us with [...]
After a very early start for everyone (except the boys in room 1 who would have slept through a concert in their room!) It was off to Ilfracombe for Kayaking... Apparently the year 4 girls nearly got wetter than expected during the pirate raids - but luckily some expert boating skills from Mrs Tucker saved the day! Then [...]
Class 3 have just arrived home from a very adventurous 2 days @ St George's House. After a very excited start to school on Mondat we walked to St George's House (5 mins away!). We unpacked, did an orienteering activity around the grounds, had a play and then had lunch....In In the afternoon year 3 walked to Putsborough [...]
We found a wasp nest hanging from the ceiling in the corner of our Wendy House. We carefully (checking there weren't any wasps inside) brought it inside to have a look. We couldn't believe how soft and papery it felt. We cut it in half to see the empty cells. It was perfect timing for our minibeast topic!! :-) [...]
Got to be quick here... They'll be up at the crack of dawn and I'll be shattered if I don't. We met at the train station, which confused one or two since we were off in a minibus. Emma Trueman took some excellent Manchester Band style photos before we set off too, thanks. There was the M5, M4, M25 & [...]
It all started this morning when the children were tidying up the creative table. Holly said, "No, we can't waste paper because then we cut down more trees and we won't have any oxygen!" Myla said, "All the wasted paper that it's in the bin is wasted oxygen!" So, we came up with some ideas of what we could do [...]
Class 3 had a great trip to RHS Rosemoor on Tuesday linking with our science and 'All about Trees' topic. We had a really interesting workshop where we learnt what plants need to grow and the life cycle of a plant. Isla got watered and Tilly turned into an apple!! Everyone got to plant some seeds and flowers so we [...]
