The blog on the website was fixed (the link now works) but the original email won’t have received that edit. Here it is again… Blogged, Facebooked, Tweeted and emailed… but if it doesn’t work again, please click through to the website. Sorry & thanks!
When there are positive Covid-19 cases in schools, it’s the job of Test and Trace to make contact with everyone who could have been a contact of the positive person. We’ve found that this doesn’t actually happen much, it if at all and so we help this by emailing the entire class directly. (After all, we have the details and the means to do so.)
When schools phone the DfE hotline to update them on our numbers and ask for advice, we’re asked to issue a ‘Warn and Inform’ letter to parents in the class. There’s a lot of information in the letter, but it does say to keep an eye out for symptoms, and to go for a PCR if you think you could be a contact. Here’s a link to the letter – there’s lots of information contained in this that you may like to read.
When numbers increase, the DfE and Public Health England make further recommendations to schools, such as reintroduce cleaning of touch points, (staff to) wear masks in corridors, ventilate rooms, etc., all of which we are doing currently. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding when things get changed!
Crossed fingers we’ll get to Friday with fewer hitches and interruptions!
