Georgeham’s team of intrepid cross country runners were reduced in size but not in gusto this weekend with Martha, Jet and Presley flying the flag for the school team in the U11 and U9 races. The event was the first of the year and the 5th in the season and took place at Shebbear College (in the middle of nowhere somewhere past Bideford!).
To say conditions were muddy is an understatement. They slipped and ran their way round the course in some of the wettest, boggiest conditions seen. The three runners were super supportive of each other and in the words of Martha, “Jet and Presly were so supportive of me.” All three did brilliantly and smiled through the muddy faces.
The final event takes place at West Buckland School next month.
