Guess the face – class one!

2018-05-08T15:45:19+01:00

This afternoon we started looking at drawing face portraits. We used mirrors to look at all of our facial features and then drew what we could see! We made sure we included our eyebrows, eyelashes, ears and hair! We had a giggle looking back through the portraits as a class and trying to guess who they were! We finished just [...]

Classes 3 and 4 have started to learn the Maypole and Broom Dance in preparation for the summer fayre. As the fayre is going to be part of our 150th anniversary of the school we want to make sure we celebrate some of the important traditions. 😀

Stormy Seas and Forest Trees…

2018-05-04T16:14:35+01:00

The last few weeks at Stepping Stones have been super busy and this week makes no exception. There has been so much role playing going on amongst the children and it has been wonderful to stand back and listen to the conversations that have been going on. In particularly, we have had a couple of extended learning sessions in which [...]

2018-05-02T06:42:15+01:00

Class 3 had a great morning at Braunton Academy yesterday. We joined the other schools in the BLC (Braunton Learning Community) for a morning of tennis skills run by the pupils at the Academy. (It was lovely to see former Georgeham pupils Sarah Filsel and Tom Hakin there, doing a great job of running the activities!)   The [...]

Bye Joe, we will miss you 😯

2022-08-18T13:27:15+01:00

Joe, our caretaker, is currently finishing his last day at Georgeham School and starting his well earned retirement. Over the past 9+ years Joe has been responsible for making our school the clean, tidy environment that we all love to be in. From fixing gates, changing bulbs and clearing up after a massive (messy) DT project....Joe has been the (often [...]

Governors’ Visioning, with crisps, dips and wine!

2022-08-18T13:27:15+01:00

Thanks for coming to the Governors' evening; it was a great evening's opportunity to bounce some ideas and get feedback! We talked about the work we've done in the background and tried to distil exactly what is it about our school that we really like, what we want to be and how we'd get there. We shared our work to [...]

2018-04-25T15:42:25+01:00

Miss Smale's Family Group with stand-in Mrs Holbourn, had great fun learning all about the different ingredients that make a relationship. We started off by everyone, (even Class 4,) having a dance to a song all about friends, then all contributed to adding and mixing the lovely bowl of ingredients which make a great friend.[categories Whole School, Class 1, Class [...]

So….how can you make blood?

2018-04-21T15:24:08+01:00

Today, class 4 have been learning about the composition and features of blood. So we made 'blood' with strawberries (red blood cells), mini marshmallows (white blood cells), sprinkles (platelets) and pineapple juice (plasma) we then blended it and drank it. Great fun....and don't be worried if your child came home saying that drank 'blood' yesterday 😉

A lovely morning with class one and stepping stones!

2018-04-22T10:42:51+01:00

On Friday morning, Stepping Stones came in to visit class one. The class one children performed a song to Stepping Stones, and then we all made our own shaker instrument! We came back together at the end to play the song together and use our shakers! It was great fun! :)

Where’s the beach?

2022-08-18T13:27:15+01:00

Another brilliant and fun afternoon on the beach... and somewhere along the high tide line Amias, Owen and Fred found Mr Thomas over towards Woolacombe, a couple of miles away, and blazed the trail back to Tony's cafe. Some lovely photos on the blog so make sure you click through to the gallery. It was lovely spending time on the [...]
