Stepping Stones has the X-Factor…

2022-08-18T13:27:17+01:00

Stepping Stones is having a revamp this week!  It's being painted tomorrow, some new furniture, some DIY jobs here and there through the week and a bit of a move around too. And here I am cutting out some bits ready for the walls whilst X-Factor is on!   The room is going to look amazing... and I know our children [...]

Class One are mathematicians!

2017-10-20T19:02:27+01:00

This week we have been seeing some fantastic maths from all of the children, and they have been beginning to use these skills independently in their learning. Year 1s have been practicing their number bonds to 10 and missing number problems which has been very tricky...but as you can see from the two very happy and proud faces that we [...]

Yes Mr Robson!

2022-08-18T13:27:17+01:00

I hope you've heard all about our trip today? It was well worth the visit and should have given the children a very realistic idea of what it would have been like to have been a child in Victorian times. IMG_2594.JPG IMG_2598.JPG IMG_2599.JPG IMG_2600.JPG No-one seemed that keen to work at the mill...

Tennis tournament success 🎾🎾🎾🎾

2017-10-18T21:00:24+01:00

A big well done to Joel, Archie, Micah and Dante who represented Georgeham in the team tennis tournament at Tarka Tennis today. They all played very well and got through to the quarter finals which is fantastic - especially as none of them do regular tennis outside of school! It was also great to hear that they were excellent at [...]

Our Open Afternoon…

2022-08-18T13:27:17+01:00

It's lovely to have our parents come and have a look around the school, seeing their children active and learning and finding out how the classroom works, rather than hearing about it, or not (!), over the dinner table. Thanks for coming! ...And a perfect opportunity to spread out lost property out, and offer the use of our Sharpie Pen!

Girls’ Football did well!

2017-10-17T18:15:53+01:00

Tony and Dan came back and said that the girls, "represented the school well"... keeping it quiet so that the girls would be able to return to school and share the EXCELLENT NEWS that THEY WON! Some amazing stories were told of fast runners, amazing goals, and saves but also of impeccable respect and sportsmanlike behaviour.  Tony also, almost, lost [...]

Smaller (Reuben-sized) Town Jones…

2017-10-17T10:44:15+01:00

It was lovely to welcome Reuben and his Mum & Dad in to school this morning and hear the song that they played about with, developed and wrote over the Summer. Reuben wondered about using it to raise money for Children in Need and so the World tour of North Devon began! With money raised going to Children in Need, [...]

Class One are bucket fillers!

2017-10-16T16:52:37+01:00

Today we read the story 'Have you filled a bucket today?' It says that we all have imaginary buckets that are filled with people's kindness. Our buckets can be 'dipped into' when others don't treat us with kindness and respect. We had a lovely discussion about how we can be 'bucket fillers!' Evie said that being nice to someone and [...]

Bulbs, buzzers and motors

2022-08-18T13:27:17+01:00

So...does increasing the length of the wire make a bulb brighter or dimmer? What about adding more bulbs or adding a motor to the circuit? Does that alter the brightness? We spent this afternoon finding out about this and more. We then used symbols to represent our findings with scientific circuit diagrams 😀
