We really enjoyed learning about shapes in class 2 this morning with lots of different activities, inside and outside. 😀
In literacy this week, the reception children have been learning their initial sounds and are now starting to blend and segment them into words! Today, we practiced writing short words using our new sounds. Class 2 had a fantastic day out at Dunster Castle. They tried out jousting and sword fighting and everyone passed, so we now have a class full of qualified Knights! Class 1 parents had a lovely afternoon... From trying various menu options for school lunch (Keri's issuing her curry recipe if you're interested!), playing outside on the field and then Miss Smale held an informal phonics presentation too. Hope no one fell asleep after lunch - that pudding was amazing too!

Just like Education Sunday last year, we had St George's Church's Harvest Service at school today. Worrying slightly that the rain would put people off (or their recollections of small chairs) we were full to the brim! Many apples were used, many boxes were wrapped for sharing, many paper carrots had prayers written on and, for once, the school's songs [...]
