2015-02-12T14:24:41+00:00

In Class 1 today, continuing the journey Miss Ellis took on her travels, we had a real treat tasting some exotic fruits from Thailand. Firstly we pretended we were entering a temple so we had to take off our shoes and ensure our shoulders and legs were covered as a mark of respect. We then passed around the different plates [...]

Roman projects…

2022-08-18T13:27:25+01:00

Some lovely Roman projects starting to come in from the children in class 3 at the moment. This is Isla's homework on mosaics, answering interesting questions she's picked out for herself to research. I love the interesting fact that Pompeii's mosaic flooring has been preserved from the covering of ash and are really good quality ones to view. Behind Isla's [...]

Well, it was worth earning all those marbles!

2015-02-06T12:18:39+00:00

As our treat for filling up our marble jar for good work and behaviour, we had an exciting time icing and decorating our own biscuits. We watched how the powdered icing sugar 'changed its state' into :- Kitty - "it's slobbery now, not dry"; Thea " it's thinnier and stickier than before"! Martha "it's much runnier than before"! Lucy "we [...]

2022-08-18T13:27:25+01:00

Oscar gave us a fantastic taste of his guitar skills this morning in Class 2. We all bobbed along to the White Stripes, Seven Nation Army and were amazed at Oscar moving his hands up and down, playing all the different chords he has learnt. Well done Oscar, we all really enjoyed it.

School (Education) Sunday

2022-08-18T13:27:25+01:00

What a lovely morning at the school. Education Sunday is quite a historic event in the Church calendar going back over a hundred years where the local church would celebrate and prayer for our schools. Today we actually had the service at school and the congregation squeezed into our hall. We heard some lovely stories about Fred's room, walking in [...]

And the winner is……

2022-08-18T13:27:25+01:00

NOAH! The winning entry! Last term class 4 worked with No Sweat to design some equipment for an outdoor adventure. After lots of discussions in the staff room at No Sweat (they actually numbered every entry, put each one around the walls and asked everyone to vote) they decided that Noah's showed the most 'scientific thinking' as every [...]

Mosaic madness…!

2015-01-30T14:43:22+00:00

Class 3 started on some mosaic tiling this afternoon as part of their Roman topic work. Before doing the real thing with clay in a couple of weeks time, this is the dry run. They learnt that....Ruby: if you make it too detailed it's too difficult. Millie: that you don,t leave massive spaces but not too small either. Polly: gaps [...]
