Science week moves to PETROC

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

This morning class 4 headed off to PETROC for the last part of our science week to see the importance of science in somewhat unexpected  places. Who would have thought that making the perfect ice cream was such a precise science? :-) There were four workshops this morning; motor mechanics, animal care, engineering and catering. The children were able to [...]

Second day of science week…

2014-07-01T19:02:10+01:00

Class 4 enjoyed a second day at Braunton School for our science week today. Everyone took part in three more workshops, including blood testing, finding out about SSC Bloodhound, and counting all the daisies inside the athletics track. (No we didn't make them count them all - instead we found out how to use random sampling to produce an accurate [...]

Science week starts with quite a few bangs…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

Class 4's science week had an eventful start today with an introduction from PETROC on space which had hydroden explosions, gun powder, a flying teddy, a rocket jet pack and then, to top it all off, a barrel of exploding teddies! (Don't worry all of the teddies were fine.) Top fact of the day: if we had a scale model [...]

Telling the time…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

One of the tasks for today was to see how well we could tell the time and try to show a time given to us digitally, on an analogue clock.  We thought we could show this on the blog using videos and so our day was taken up making storyboards, being an effective team member and taking and retaking videos! [...]

Beach Volleyball…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

Year 4 and 5 represented Georgeham School in a predominantly Year 6 competition of Volley Sport - slightly different rules to that of Volleyball. Georgeham's base for the day Denise giving instructions for the day.  A brilliant day, if not slightly too hot, for the Primary School VolleySport Competition. We had some younger children with us but I [...]

Oceanfest 2014

2014-06-20T22:31:59+01:00

Today class 4 had a fantastic day at Oceanfest. We started with team games on the burrows. Then it was on to the beach for the flag races. Zumba in the main arena was really popular with everyone! We even managed to fit in some time looking at all the stalls in the main arena...though I think [...]
