Class 4 visited Ilfracombe today to compare the coastline of Ilfracombe with the coastlines of Saunton and Croyde as part of our ‘coasts’ topic.
We had a lovely sunny day that was packed with activities. We visited the Ilfracombe Aquarium, the Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station and tunnels beaches. We even managed to squeeze in a bit of sketching and an ice cream. Wow, it was certainly a busy day!
Thank you to Juli, Tracey and Rio for volunteering to come along and share our day out. Thanks to Mrs P and Miss Trute too. You were all a great help and I hope you enjoyed it.
Class 4-I saw on the news today that the RNLI Ilfracombe crew were called out last night to rescue a swimmer in a powerful tide. They used both of the boats we looked around on Friday with Andy and Matt, who showed us around, part of the crew.
I wonder if they managed to beat Lottie’s time of 58 seconds (albeit with a bit of help from Ben) to get into their dry suits, I hope so 🙂
The swimmer was rescued and taken back to shore….what a fantastic job the RNLI do!
