I hope you enjoy these. They’re just snippets from the rehearsals yesterday afternoon at the Queen’s Theatre’s Musical Festival of Remembrance for the WW1 commemorative events taking place this year.
Hundreds of children involved over two days of events which were organised by Devon’s Music Service and supported by some dedicated staff and some imaginative children.
Yes it was moving, sad at times, but a brilliant event that made us all proud of our children – they are brill!
So, some You Tube links… turn up the volume!
Our Learning Community doing their piece entitled “Abide With Me.”
Southmead, Georgeham and Braunton Academy.
Chulmleigh Learning Community singing ‘Pipes of Peace.’
You may recognise one of the Devon Teachers Rock Choir members! (There were 40 of us for the evening.)
South Molton C of E Junior School’s very moving piece…
Ilfracombe Rocks / Lee Club: Johnny Had Gone For A Soldier.
Thanks for posting this. Lovely stuff and some great singing. Although I’d question the need for 80s Macca. Surely Live and Let Die would have worked just as well?
I think it was due to the lyrics, Paul – Pipes of Peace’s video and lyrics are great stuff for kids. Surely you jest with the 70’s Macca song suggestion, although a great riff!
