Admissions - Applying for a School Place
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Our website contains a wealth of information about Georgeham School which we hope will help give you a good understanding of how we work and the experience your child will have. However, we would encourage you to visit the school before you make any choices about application so you can experience yourself how lovely it is here.
You can arrange a visit through our School Office and we will be happy to show you around the school and answer any questions you might have. You can also read our most recent Inspection reports from Ofsted and the Diocese of Exeter, as well as review performance data from the Department of Education, on our Inspections and Performance page.
Pre-School
Preschool operates from a classroom nestled between Class 1 and Class 2 and is open to pre-schoolers from the age of 2 years and upwards.
It is part of the school and managed by the governing body of the school.
Pre-School provides a nurturing and welcoming environment in which all children can play, learn and thrive. The pre-school team work with the early years team at the school and children can enjoy time in the dedicated EYFS outdoor space and in the wider school grounds and nature area as part of a curriculum which embraces our local environment. Every child is valued as an individual and supported to achieve at the highest level. This is achieved through the small setting and a well developed key worker system as well as by providing children with purposeful play activities that are tailored to the individual needs of the children in the setting from the youngest 2 year olds to those preparing for their transition into the school. The pre-school is open every day of the week. Children have access to the wrap around before and after school provision if required. The pre-school is pleased to accept the 30 hours extended entitlement childcare for children aged 3 and above who meet the criteria.

How to Apply for a Place at our School
Admissions for all maintained schools are managed centrally by Devon County Council. If you live in Devon you can apply here for a place in a mainstream state primary or secondary school. Just click here to be redirected to the application site. Applications for a reception school place can be made between November and January in the academic year before your child will start school.
Georgeham School operates a single in-take date so most children will join school in the September following their fourth birthday. Your child must be in full time education at the beginning of the term following his or her fifth birthday.
