Dear Parents

We have been offered the opportunity to have the fantastic storyteller and actor, Steve Manning, visit our school this Wednesday (16th February).

He will be spending the morning with Class 4, bringing Viking history to life with real Viking artefacts, including shields and weapons, that the children will be able to handle & dress up in. They will take part in his engaging and active storytelling and learn all the gory details about the Vikings, as well as some surprising facts, to help us answer the question, “Did the Vikings deserve their reputation?”

Steve will then spend the afternoon with Class 3, retelling the story of Howard Carter and the discovery of the Ancient Egyptian tomb of Tutankhamun. He will also hold a historical ‘whodunnit?’ based on the mysterious circumstances of his death.

We have been able to source this at a discounted price of £5 per child and would appreciate it if you could bring this in either on the day or pay through ScoPay. We appreciate that this is very short notice, but feel that it is a fantastic opportunity that we wouldn’t want the children to miss out on!

Given the short notice, dressing up is optional. If your child does wish to dress up, their outfit does not need to be elaborate; a t-shirt with a belt will do perfectly! If your child is in Class 4, please make sure that you bring in a pair of trainers for the afternoon.
